Every spring, the Early Christians synced up with the rhythm of Jesus’ death and resurrection — they’d dive into prayer and fasting (death), then come together for a communion feast (resurrection).
As time passed, Christians started calling this time Lent or “lengthen.” Think of it like this: as we transition from the gloominess of winter to the vibrancy of spring, our days start stretching out and getting longer. Early Christians saw this as a deep symbol, gearing up for Easter, symbolizing a shift from darkness to light. Just like how winter days stretch into spring, we’re invited to transform along with the season.
When we collectively journey towards Easter during this season, we’re also on a path of growth and transformation, becoming people drawn out of darkness into something truly radiant.
Our hope is that this Easter season will create some of the most meaningful moments of your year!
