Join us on an incredible mission trip to the ancient city of Athens! We'll serve in Kipseli, one of the most unique and densely populated urban districts in Europe, home to a hundred nationalities and thousands of refugees and migrants. Throughout the week, you'll engage with the refugee community, participate in community engagement activities, arts, and a sports day at the beach. We'll also walk in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul in Kavala, Thessalonica, and Philippi, experiencing how the gospel story came to Europe. This is a life-changing adventure you won't want to miss!

about the mission field

Greece is predominantly Eastern Orthodox Christian, with around 90% of the population identifying as Orthodox. The Greek Orthodox Church plays a central role in Greek culture and daily life, influencing traditions, holidays, and national identity. There are also smaller communities of Muslims, particularly in the regions of Thrace, as well as Catholic and Protestant groups.

In recent years, Greece has seen an influx of refugees, particularly from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq, many of whom are Muslim. This has created both opportunities and challenges for integration, as Greece balances its traditional religious identity with the growing diversity brought by the refugee population.

Mission Teams are dedicated to addressing the physical and spiritual needs of specific communities. We believe that Christ’s command to go into all the world remains unchanged. However, we are mindful of the various challenges that exist both locally and globally. We commit to taking all necessary precautions and collaborating with our missionary hosts to adhere to local guidelines. When needs and requests arise from our missionary partners and hosts, we aim to provide opportunities for those who are willing and able to go and assist in meeting these needs.
