SYNOPSIS OF ROLE
The Tech Arts Director will help to create and maintain an environment conducive to worship through audio, lighting, and video for all services held by Life Fellowship Church, both in-person and online, maintaining a high level of excellence and creativity in all technical aspects. The Arts Director will also provide spiritual and technical leadership for the TA team of volunteers and staff, ensuring team health, ability, and effectiveness.
This role requires a person with strong leadership skills who can effectively build teams and systems and provide effective pastoral oversight.
The Tech Arts Director is under the direct leadership and authority of the Worship Pastor and oversees all the Tech Arts staff. This is a full-time salaried role and does require the person to, at times, work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Help to create an environment conducive to worship through audio, lighting, and video for both in-person and online services maintaining a high level of excellence in all technical aspects.
Provide spiritual leadership and genuine care for the well-being of the TA staff and volunteers
Provide direct oversight to the TA staff
Hold TA staff, volunteers, and contractors to standards of excellence in all team functions. Promptness to meetings and events, team unity, job performance, knowledge growth, etc.
Oversee the recruiting and onboarding process for new TA volunteers and staff.
Create and maintain an ongoing and effective development/training program for the TA staff and volunteers, ensuring their technical growth.
Ensure all technical elements necessary for the service flow are in place and that volunteers are fully engaged and communicated to.
Coordinate TA volunteers for all the services and special events provided by Life
Fellowship, including, but not limited to, Weekends, Pursuit Nights, Groups,
Students, Young Adults, and Kids’ services
Manage TA contractor hires when needed
Lead weekly meetings with the TA staff team
Lead weekly TA volunteer meeting
Attend weekly Staff meetings, service planning meetings, and any other meetings
needed to fulfill your job duties
Bring creative insight to service and special events planning.
Run different tech positions during services as needed
Troubleshoot any technical problems which may occur during service
Manage the TA budget
Develop and implement an annual budget for AVL technical needs
Manage the purchases, installations, and programming of new AVL equipment
Establish regular preventative maintenance procedures for the AVL system
Research and keep up with the newest AVL technology, recommending upgrades
Lead and manage all stage design implementation for all services and special
events alongside the Worship Pastor
Regularly evaluate systems and initiate improvements and best practices when
Manage our video streaming service (Resi), ensuring our services are being
streamed with great quality across the digital platforms
Communicate important information to your direct oversight, TA volunteers, and staff
in a professional and timely manner
Support the mission and direction of Life Fellowship Church.
Cast vision for the future of the TA department
Help to build the TA structure and systems needed for multi-site. E.g.: Teams, Staff,
AVL equipment, etc.
Provide leadership and technical support for muti-site
Meet weekly with the Worship Pastor and note action items
Perform or complete any items deemed necessary to support the vision and mission
of the church
